Prime minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with India’s Commonwealth Games Champions. The Prime Minister observed the transforming landscape of Indian sports over the past decade, highlighting that receiving national sportspersons at his residence has been a regular and cherished tradition throughout his 12 to 13-year tenure. He affirmed that the dedicated efforts and sustained successes of Indian athletes in securing continuous victories for the country inspire young school students far more effectively than routine promotional advice. “Your medal inspires them more than anything we could say by going to schools,” remarked Shri Modi.
The Prime Minister interacted with an athlete who recalled a prior commitment regarding her daughters taking up sports, following up on her progress and receiving an assurance that her daughters would bring home three medals in the upcoming Commonwealth Games. He warmly validated her confidence and encouraged her commitment to excellence.
