Sushant case | Can’t rule out murder only over AIIMS report: Supreme Court lawyer

<p>Ending months of speculation, The AIIMS medical board on October 3 stated that Sushant Singh Rajput's death was a suicide and not a murder. Dr Sudhir Gupta, who led the AIIMS' panel re-evaluating the actor's post-mortem report said that there were no injuries on the body other than of hanging. Hindustan Times' Senior Editor Aditi Prasad caught up with Supreme Court lawyer Aashutosh Srivastava to discuss the AIIMS report. Srivastava said that it is too early to rule out murder in the case since the report has not been made public. <p>Around three and a half months after actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai residence, the conclusion of the re-evaluation of his autopsy has finally been revealed, as per reports. Dr Sudhir Gupta of the All India Institute of Medical Science, Delhi, who led the the panel, was quoted as saying that Sushant died of suicide, not murder. He added that no signs of struggle or scuffle were found on his body or clothes, and the only injuries were those related to hanging, as per reports. The revelation contradicts what Sushant's father's lawyer had claimed. Vikas Singh had cited an unnamed AIIMS doctor to state that Sushant was strangled to death. Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer reacted to the latest disclosure by saying that her camp had always maintained that the truth can't be changed. However, there are some, like advocate Aashutosh Srivastava who feel that it is too soon to rule out murder, and one must wait for the CBI to present its evidence in court. <p>Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap denied sexual harassment allegations labelled by actor Payal Ghosh. The filmmaker denied all charges in a statement by his lawyer Priyanka Khimani. As per the statement, Kashyap was shooting one of his films in Sri Lanka when the alleged incident happened. Slamming Kashyap's statement, Ghosh took to Twitter and called it a lie. The 30-year-old actor has demanded for narco analysis and lie detector test. This comes a day after Kashyap appeared for questioning in the sexual assault case. Kashyap was questioned by Versova police for close to eight hours on Thursday. Payal Ghosh accused Kashyap of sexually assaulting her during 'Bombay velvet' in 2013. Calling it 'baseless', Kashyap had issued a statement soon after the allegations surfaced.</p>

Versova police officials have taken the actor to Cooper hospital for medical examination. Sushant death | Poison test to lapses, AIIMS’ forensic findings: Reports

<p>From not finding any traces of organic poison in Sushant Singh Rajput's body, to the discovery of lapses in the autopsy conducted by Mumbai's Cooper Hospital - news reports have shed light on what the forensic analysis by All India Institute of Medical Science, Delhi may contain. AIIMS was approached by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to vet the findings of the first report which suggested that the probable cause of the actor's death was asphyxia due to hanging. Recently, the lawyer of Sushant's father tweeted that an AIIMS doctor had told him that the actor was strangled to death as per photographic evidence. In response, the counsel for Sushant's girlfriend and main suspect in the case, Rhea Chakraborty, said that a new medical board must be formed to prevent partiality in the probe. A day earlier, Maharashtra's Home minister had taken a jibe at the CBI for not presenting its conclusions in the case despite probing it for around a month and a half. ‘NCB forced me to implicate Karan Johar’: Arrested producer Kshitij Prasad

<p>Kshitij Prasad, who was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the drug probe in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case has made a big allegation. Reports suggest the producer told a court that he was forced by the NCB to implicate Karan Johar. Prasad told c Mumbai court that the NCB had harassed and blackmailed him into giving a statement and said he was subjected to third degree and ill treatment by the agency. The producer further alleged that NCB had picked up two of his friends who were also forced to make statement against him. He His lawyer also alleged that his statement was not recorded as per his narration and language. The producer has been remanded to custody till 3rd of October. Meanwhile, Karan Johar had earlier released a statement saying that he does not know Kshitij Prasad personally and he had been hired in Dharmatic Production on a contractual basis for a project which eventually did not materialize. Bollywood drugs case: Kshitij Prasad arrested; Karan Johar distances himself

<p>The Narcotics Control Bureau made a fresh arrest in the ever-expanding Bollywood drugs case. Kshitij Ravi Prasad, a former employee of a company linked to film-maker Karan Johar, was arrested by the drugs agency a day after he was questioned. His name reportedly cropped up during the questioning of Powai hotelier Ankush Arneja. The latter was arrested on September 13 for allegedly peddling drugs. Meanwhile, Karan Johar distanced himself from Prasad via an Instagram post. He said that he didn't know Prasad personally. In 2019, the latter was employed by Dharmatic Entertainment, a sister concern of Dharma Productions, as an executive producer on a contract basis. However, the project that he had been engaged for didn't materialise. Johar said that he, or Dharma Productions, can't be held responsible for what people do in their personal lives. Watch: Deepika, Shraddha, Sara at NCB office for questioning in drugs case

<p>Top Bollywood actors appeared before the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection with the alleged drugs case which came to light following Sushant Singh Rajput's death. The first to arrive at the NCB office in Mumbai's Colaba was Deepika Padukone. She reached around 9:45 am. Following the NCB summons, she had returned from Goa on September 24 where she had been working on a new movie. The next to reach the NCB office was actor Shraddha Kapoor. She arrived around noon. Following Shraddha was Sara Ali Khan. Like Deepika, she had returned to Mumbai from Goa, where she had been vacationing with her mother Amrita Singh. Deepika Padukone's manager Karishma Prakash was also seen at the agency's office. She had been questioned a day earlier also. NCB sources said she was asked who the person named 'D' in her WhatsApp chats was, with whom she had discussed drugs. A day earlier, NCB had grilled actor Rakul Preet. Drugs case: Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan return; top male actors in NCB list?

<p>The Narcotics Control Bureau has significantly expanded its drugs probe which started in the aftermath of actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Deepika Padukone and Sara Ali Khan returned to Mumbai on September 24 after receiving NCB summons in connection with the case. While Deepika was in Goa to work on a new film being directed by Shakun Batra, Sara was in the state for a vacation with her mother Amrita Singh. Hrithik’s donation helps fulfill ballet dreams of e-rickshaw driver’s son

<p>Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has come forward to help an aspiring ballet dancer. The actor helped the Delhi boy to get into the dance school of his choice. Hrithik's HRX Films has donated Rs 3 lakh to 20-year-old student, Kamal Singh. Kamal is the son of an e-rickshaw puller who lives in Delhi's Vikas Puri. He wants to join The English National Ballet School of London, England. Kamal needed to raise Rs 25 lakh to get into the dance school in London. More than Rs 17 lakh have already been raised through crowdfunding platform, Ketto. Kamal's dance teacher, Mario Fernando Aguilera, runs a dance studio in Delhi, shared about the donation. However, there hasn't been any official response from actor's side regarding the donation.</p>

‘Depression is a consequence of drug abuse’: Kangana’s jibe at Deepika Padukone

<p>Kangana Ranaut has lashed out at Deepika Padukone on Twitter over the use of drugs in Bollywood. Kangana mocked Deepika's depression awareness campaign and said that it is likely a consequence of drug abuse. Kangana's attack comes after some Whatsapp chats allegedly showed the actor seeking drugs from her manager. 'Repeat after me, depression is a consequence of drug abuse.
