<p>Germany fans in Berlin expressed their frustration and disappointment after Joachim Loew's side exited the FIFA World Cup 2018 at the group stage with a shock 2-0 defeat to South Korea on Wednesday, 27th June, 2018. Joachim Loew's side became the first Germany national football team to crash out of the tournament in the group stages since 1938. They also became the third successive defending World Cup champions to crash out of the tournament in the group stages. Maradona is ‘well’ after bizarre behaviour during Argentina win

<p>Argentine football great Diego Maradona says he is well after requiring medical treatment at a World Cup game in Russia. Footage posted on social media showed Maradona apparently disoriented and being helped to climb stairs at Argentina's 2-1 win over Nigeria on Tuesday. He had earlier been seen reacting emotionally to the game and showing a middle-finger salute when Argentina scored. TV footage also showed Maradona with his eyes closed for part of the game. Maradona says he was dizzy and his “neck hurt a lot,” so he was examined at the stadium. Writing on Instagram underneath a picture of himself with medical staff, Maradona says “I was checked by a doctor and he recommended me to go home before the second half, but I wanted to stay because we were risking it all. Argentina fans celebrate after dramatic World Cup win vs Nigeria

<p>Things have been far from straightforward for Argentina so far at this World Cup. Held to a 1-1 draw by Iceland in their opening game, they then lost 3-0 to Croatia to leave them on the verge of early elimination. But a late 2-1 win over Nigeria on Tuesday (26th June) saw them scrape into the knockout stages and they will now face France on Saturday (30th June) with a quarter final berth at stake. There was a huge outpouring of emotional relief from Argentina fans after the win over Nigeria with dozens of them seen celebrating, chanting and dancing outside the stadium. Video: SNTV.</p>

FIFA World Cup: Must-win tie vs Korea for champions Germany

<p>South Korea face Germany in Group F on Wednesday, with qualification for the last 16 on the line. Die Mannschaft will guarantee qualification if they win by two or more clear goals. An injury time winner from Tony Kroos saw Germany beat Sweden 2-1, to keep their hopes alive. The defending champions have won the World Cup four times, in 1954, 1974, 1990 and 2014. Germany have won 15 of their last 17 competitive matches. South Korea have lost their two group games, but can mathematically still qualify for the knock out phase. Sculpture resembling Ronaldo sparks interest at World Cup museum

<p>As Saransk welcomed Cristiano Ronaldo to play in a World Cup match, there has been much buzz around a sculpture in the small host city's S.D. Erzia Museum that is said to resemble the Portuguese talisman. The sculpture in question is 'Citizen of Distant Planet of Jupiter', created in 1962 by Russian sculptor Beatrice Sandomirskaya. According to the World Cup organisers' media arm, the sculpture of an alien first gained international fame when a group of Portuguese journalists suggested it looked like Ronaldo. The S.D. Erzia Mordovian Republican Museum of Fine Arts is happy at the number of visitors the sculpture is drawing, even if opinion is polarised over whether it actually looks like Cristiano. World Cup 2018: Fans react to Saudi Arabia win vs Egypt

<p>They might have already been out of the World Cup, but that didn't stop their fans from celebrating their 2-1 win over Egypt on Monday. Saudi Arabia snatched the win after Salem Aldawsari scored with almost the last kick in a contest, in a game where both teams were trying to avoid finishing last in Group A. The result means that Saudi Arabia finish third with three points, while Egypt finish in last place. For Egypt, who were playing at the World Cup for the first time since 1990, it was a disappointing tournament. The match in Volgograd came one day after Mohamed Salah allegedly told Egyptian team officials and teammates that he may retire from international play in protest against being used as a political symbol. The striker has been at the centre of a controversy involving his “honorary citizenship” from Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. (Video: SNTV). </p>

Iago Aspas scored the equaliser in stoppage time - with the aid of VAR - as the side laboured after an unconvincing performance. With Portugal held to a 1-1 draw by Iran in the other match of the evening, the draw was enough for Spain to progress to the round of 16 as World Cup 2018 group winners. <p>There were contrasting emotions from Colombia and Poland fans in Kazan on Sunday (24th June) after Colombia's beat Poland 3-0 to end Poland's hopes of reaching the last 16 of the tournament. The victory puts the South Americans in third place in Group H on three points behind Japan and Senegal, who shared a 2-2 draw earlier on Sunday to move to four points apiece. A Colombia victory over the Africans in their final first-round match in Samara on Thursday would secure a spot in the last 16 and keep them on target to at least match their charge to the quarter-finals in Brazil four years ago. FIFA World Cup 2018: Marcelo brings son to Brazil practice

<p>After the 1-1 draw with Switzerland in Rostov on Sunday, Brazil are already back in practice. All but Neymar, Paulinho and Thiago Silva went to the training site attached to the Yug Sport Stadium, a walk away from their hotel in Sochi. The three players stayed at their hotel gym to do physical training. According to Brazil's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, there's no injury among them, despite the fact that Neymar left the mixed zone last night limping. Players who started the match, such as Philippe Coutinho, Marcelo and Casemiro took part in only a light training session. Marcelo even brought his son, Lian, to practice as well. <p>Birkir Mar Saevarsson, who plays for an Iceland club called Valur and is a defender in the Iceland team in the FIFA World Cup 2018, is not only an international footballer, but he works in a salt-packing factory. In a chat, Saevarsson says it is normal for a football player to work in a factory. “This is normal for an Icelander (working in factory), you know. It's more normal than going to a World Cup.
