CBI grills Rhea Chakraborty for 10 hrs; ED summons Goa hotelier | Sushant death

<p>Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty was grilled by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday for over 10 hours in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. This is the first time that the CBI questioned Rhea in connection with Sushant's death since the central agency took charge of the case on August 19. Rhea's brother Showmik Chakraborty was also questioned by the CBI on Thursday. Sushant's friend Siddharth Pithani was also summoned by the CBI. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Goa businessman Gaurav Arya in alleged money-laundering case. The Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) sought details of the case from ED. Sunny Leone ‘tops’ Kolkata college’s merit list, actor responds on Twitter

<p>Actor Sunny Leone has reacted as one of her 'namesakes' showed excellence in academics. Sunny took to Twitter to share hilarious post about 'mischievous' addition to a college merit list. The actor's name appeared on top of merit list posted on website of the Kolkata college. It was the first merit list for admission to BA (Honours) in English in Asutosh College. Application ID and roll number accompanied the name on the list. Marks obtained in best of four subjects in Class 12 board exams was a perfect 400. After coming across the merit list, Sunny decided to have some fun with it. A college official called it an act of 'mischief' and said that the authority will conduct inquiry. This is not the first time that a Sunny Leone has made it to top of a merit list. Last year, the actor had 'topped' the draft list for junior engineer post. The incident happened in Bihar Public Health Engineering Department. Sunny is currently in Los Angeles with her husband Daniel Weber and kids Nisha, Noah and Asher. She flew to LA with family after Covid lockdown was lifted in India. The actor said that she felt her family would be safer in the US.</p>

Rhea Chakraborty shares a video of her father, requests police protection

<p>Rhea Chakraborty requested Mumbai Police for protection as she shared a video of her father on Instagram. Her father was mobbed by reporters while entering the house premises. In the post, she alleged threat to her and her family members. She wrote, “This is inside my building compound, the man in this video is my father Indrajit Chakraborty (retd. Army officer) We have been trying to get out of our house to cooperate with ED, CBI and various investigation authorities to cooperate. There is a threat to my life and my family's life. We have informed the local police station and even gone there, no help provided. We have informed the investigation authorities to help us get to them, no help arrived. How is this family going to live? We are only asking for assistance, to cooperate with the various agencies that have asked us. I request @mumbaipolice to please provide protection so that we can cooperate with these investigation agencies. ” Rhea will be questioned by the CBI today in Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Alleged Rhea drug link: Sushant’s family’s lawyer says case getting ‘serious’

<p>An alleged drug angle has introduced a fresh twist in the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death. A news channel claimed to have accessed messages which showed the late actor's girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, discussing banned drugs like marijuana and MDMA. As per reports, the Enforcement Directorate has also referred some evidence linking Rhea to banned drugs to the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Narcotics Control Bureau. Reacting to the development, the lawyer of Sushant's family said that the matter was getting 'very, very serious'. He said that the scope of the proceedings was widening 'substantially' now. As per lawyer Vikas Singh, the actor's family had been under the impression that Sushant was being overdosed with prescription drugs, but the introduction of a banned drugs angle would lead to abetment to suicide or murder case. Sushant case: Autopsy report details; CBI recreates scene; doctor’s questions

<p>Over two months after Sushant Singh Rajput's death, his autopsy report surfaced. The report concluded that the probable cause of death was 'asphyxia due to hanging' and thus an 'unnatural' death. It contained other details like the abrasion marks around his neck and the condition of his skull, ribs and other parts of the body. Meanwhile, the investigative team of the Central Bureau of Investigation visited the late actor's Mumbai residence with forensic experts to try and recreate the final hours of Sushant's life, as per sources. The team also questioned his cook for the second day. They might also question his manager Deepesh Sawant. The CBI has also asked doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Science to vet the autopsy report. Rajput was found dead at his residence on June 14. Sushant case update: Film-maker questioned; Bihar cop defends ‘aukat’ jibe

<p>Actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case has intensified. There have been frequent developments in the case. The ED recorded director Rumi Jaffery's statement on Thursday in connection with a money laundering case linked to the actor's death. Jaffery has earlier been questioned by Mumbai Police. He had offered a film to the late actor. ED had also questioned Rhea Chakraborty in the money laundering case. Meanwhile, Bihar DGP said Rhea shouldn't forget she's an accused in the case. Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey clarified his 'aukat' comment. Pandey said the meaning of 'aukat' in English is stature. Rhea doesn't have the stature to comment on Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. On Wednesday, the Supreme Court directed CBI to investigate the case. SC held the FIR registered in Patna over Sushant's death legitimate and said that the Bihar government was competent to recommend transferring the case to CBI. The top court also asked Mumbai Police to hand over all evidence collected so far to CBI. Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai residence on June 14.</p>
