Sushant death: Vikas Singh slams Rhea Chakraborty for ‘political’ accusations

<p>Vikas Singh, the lawyer of Sushant Singh's father KK Singh, slammed Rhea Chakraborty for accusing the probe of being political. Vikas Singh on Tuesday said, though Mumbai Police is a quite capable force, yet it has handled this particular case carelessly. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is to announce verdict over Rhea's plea for transferring the case from Patna to Mumbai. Chakraborty, in her petition to the apex court, had sought the transfer of case from Patna to Mumbai jurisdiction. Accusing Rhea of abetting his son's suicide, KK Singh, Rajput's father, filed an FIR in Patna on June 25 against her, her parents (including mother Sandhya Chakraborty), Showik, Rajput's manager Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi and unknown persons accusing them of cheating and abetting his son's death. Singh has also alleged financial irregularities and siphoning off Rs 15 crore in his son's bank account in one year to an unknown person's account, who is not known or connected to the late actor. Vikas said that Sushant's post-mortem report doesn't mention the 'time of death'. Vikas added that this detail is crucial in Sushant's death probe. “There is no mention of time of death in Sushant's post-mortem report. Time of death is crucial to clear how Sushant died. It is hard to say Sushant died by hanging if there is no time of death. All these questions have to be answered by Mumbai police, Cooper Hospital. We won't be near the truth until the CBI investigates the case,” he said. Meanwhile, actor Ankita Lokhande shared details of flat registration and EMIs. Reports had emerged that Ankita's flat's EMI was deducted from Sushant's account. On Friday, the ED had reported on deduction of EMIs from Sushant's account. ED has been questioning Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her family. ED registered a case against Chakraborty after Sushant's father filed an FIR. Sushant's father has leveled severe allegations against Rhea and her family. Rhea had moved SC alleging 'media trial' and asking to shift the case to Mumbai police.</p>

IAF writes to censor board over ‘negative portrayal’ in ‘Gunjan Saxena’

<p>The Indian Air Force has written to the Central Board of Film Certification complaining against its 'undue negative portrayal' in the movie 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl'. The letter states that as per the initial understanding, Dharma Productions had agreed to represent Indian Air Force with authenticity and make all efforts to ensure that the film helps to inspire the next generation of IAF officers. The IAF now alleges that some dialogues in the trailer seem to portray the IAF in a 'negative light'. The story of the Dharma Productions movie is based on the first Indian Air Force woman pilot who was part of the 1999 Kargil war. The letter also states that IAF as a service has always ensured the organisation is gender neutral and provided equal opportunities to male and women personnel. IAF has also provided a summary of all the scenes and dialogues that it considers objectionable and an incorrect presentation of the gender bias. Sushant death: Rhea moves SC again; ED probe continues; Raut levels big charge

<p>Fresh twists and turns in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case on Monday. Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty approached the Supreme Court on Monday with a fresh plea alleging “media trial”. Rhea said she should not be made a scapegoat of political agendas. The actor also alleged the transfer of probe by Bihar Police to CBI was “illegal and bad in law”. Rhea was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate on Monday in the money laundering case linked to Sushant's death. Rhea and her family members were summoned on Monday morning. Later, Sushant's business manager Shruti Modi was also questioned in the case. Sushant's friend Siddharth Pithani also reached Enforcement Directorate on Monday. Centre had transferred Sushant's case to the CBI after which an FIR was re-registered on Thursday naming Rhea and others. Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that Sushant did not have the best of relations with his father. Sushant's family hit back at the Shiv Sena leader and demanded an apology. </p>

<p>Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt was released from the hospital on Monday. The actor was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital after he complained of breathlessness and uneasiness in the chest. Dutt also tested negative for Covid-19. Hospital officials said the actor is “absolutely fine”. On Saturday, Sanjay tweeted that he had tested negative for Covid-19 but would be kept 'under medical observation'. “Just wanted to assure everyone that I'm doing well. I'm currently under medical observation and the Covid-19 report is negative as well. With the help and care of the excellent doctors, nurses, and staff at Lilavati hospital, I should be home in a day or two. Thank you for your well wishes and blessings. Please stay safe, everyone,” he had written. </p>

‘Sushant Singh Rajput was not on good terms with his father’: Sanjay Raut

<p>Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut stood by his remark on actor Sushant Singh Rajput and his father's relationship. The Shiv Sena leader said that Sushant was not on good terms with father KK Singh. Raut added that he has sympathies for Singh, but there are 'many things that will come to surface'. Earlier, Raut had made the same remark in an article published on Saamana. He is the associate editor of Sena's editorial mouthpiece Saamana. “It is true, how many times did Sushant go to Patna to meet his father? I have sympathy for his father but there are many things that will come to surface,” Raut said. This comes as Sushant Singh Rajput's death case intensifies with the investigative agency Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioning actor Rhea Chakraborty again on Monday. The ED held a marathon session with her brother Showik on Saturday evening. The interrogation went on for nearly 18 hours and ended on Sunday morning. In another editorial on the case, Raut had slammed Centre for handing over the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Raut said that the decision has been taken for political gains and as part of pressure tactics. Last week, in his weekly column Rokhthok, Raut said decision is an attack on state's autonomy.</p>

Covid: Abhishek Bachchan discharged from hospital after testing negative

<p>Actor Abhishek Bachchan has tested negative for Covid-19. Abhishek took to social media to share the news with his fans. “I TOLD YOU!!! Discharge plan: YES!! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. I'm so happy to be able to go home. #believe My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati Hospital for taking such good care of me and my family and helping us beat Covid-19. We couldn't have done it without them,” he wrote on Twitter. He also shared a picture of a medical board on Instagram. Earlier on Saturday, Amitabh Bachchan had expressed anxiety about son's health. Amitabh wrote on his blog that Abhishek had taken another swab test for Covid-19. He also mentioned that the test results were expected by the evening. Both Amitabh and Abhishek had tested positive for coronavirus in July. While Amitabh later tested negative and was allowed to go home, Abhishek was still at the hospital and awaiting a negative test. Abhishek's wife Aishwarya Rai and daughter Aaradhya had also tested positive. The mother and daughter were at hospital only for a week. They were sent home after they were found negative.</p>

Rhea Chakraborty questioned for over 8 hours by ED in money laundering case

<p>Actor Rhea Chakraborty grilled for 8 hours by the Enforcement directorate (ED) on Friday. Rhea was questioned in money laundering case linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput based on the basis of a First Information Report filed by the Bihar police. Sushant's father, KK Singh, had alleged that there were unexplained transfers from his son's bank account involving actor Rhea Chakraborty and others. The late actor's father had accused Chakraborty of having befriended his son in May 2019 with the intention of furthering her own career, said officials. She had arrived at the agency's Ballard office with brother Showmik. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had named Rhea and four others in Sushant Singh's death case. Sushant's father had accused Rhea of abetting his son's suicide. Rhea was called again on August 10, PTI reported. The agency is investigating Rhea's income, investments etc. Rhea had challenged the complaint filed against her in Patna. On Friday, the Centre moved Supreme Court seeking to be heard in Rhea's petition. Sushant's father had lodged an FIR leveling serious allegations against Rhea.</p>

Sushant death: CBI team probing; Bihar police team leaves Mumbai; DGP’s warning

<p>Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death probe case, which was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), will be handled by the team which is probing AgustaWestland case and Vijay Mallya fraud case. Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey warned of legal actions against Mumbai police if IPS officer Vinay Tiwari isn't released. Tiwari, who led the police team from Patna, was put under hoe quarantine by BMC officials. A team from Bihar had arrived to investigate the death of Sushant after the actor's father KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and her family. Sushant's father had accused Rhea of taking control of the actor's finances, among other charges. The CBI team is likely to re-register the FIR filed by Bihar police. TV actor Sameer Sharma found dead at Mumbai home, police suspect suicide

<p>TV actor Sameer Sharma was found dead in his Malad apartment late on Wednesday night. Police suspected that the 44-year-old actor died by suicide. Sharma was staying at first floor of Neha CHS building, Ahinsa Marg in Malad (west). Police said a security guard found him dead and alerted society members. A case of accidental death (ADR) has been registered. Police have sent actor's body to a govt hospital for autopsy. According to police, Sharma had rented the apartment in February. Sharma had appeared in shows Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Jyoti among others. Sharma is best known for his role in the TV serial Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. The actor is also listed as a cast member in films such as Hasee Toh Phasee and Ittefaq. Sameer's death was condoled by actors Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan. Sameer's last social media post, a picture of sea, was shared on Instagram on July 29.</p>
